Appellations

Normandy is divided into three zones, each producing apples of a different nature, giving rise to three “appellations d’origines contrôlées”.

-    Appellation "Calvados"
-    Appellation "Calvados Pays d’Auge"
-    Appellation "Calvados Domfrontais"

APPELLATION "CALVADOS"

-    The apples come from a large part of Normandy -    Single distillation in a column still -    74% of total Calvados production

Appellation Calvados Contrôlée of the Père Magloire range : FINE and 12 YEARS OLD

APPELLATION "CALVADOS PAYS d'AUGE"

-    The apples come from the Pays d’Auge region -    Double distillation in a pot still -    25% of total Calvados production Appellation Calvados Pays d’Auge of the Père Magloire range : VSOP, XO and 20 YEARS OLD

APPELLATION "CALVADOS DOMFRONTAIS"

-    Contains 30% of pears; all the the apples and pears come from the region of Domfront

-    Single distillation in a column still

-    1% of total Calvados production
